IGP Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar chaired review meeting on Annual Development Programme
Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, chaired a review meeting on the Annual Development Programme at the Central Police Office. The meeting was attended by Additional IG Welfare & Finance Imran Arshad, Additional IG Training Tariq Rustam Chauhan, MD Safe Cities Authority Muhammad Ahsan Younas, and other senior officers. AIG Development Muhammad Abdullah Lak briefed the participants on the utilization of supplementary grants for the completion of development projects. IGP Punjab directed that all ongoing development projects must be completed by June 30 without fail. He said that under the “Safe Punjab Vision” of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, a network of Safe City cameras has already been installed in 40 cities. He added that the scope of the Safe Cities project is being extended to 144 tehsils across Punjab, including 96 new ones. By next year, the Safe Cities project will be completed in all 7,000 Union Councils of Punjab. IGP Punjab also instructed that construction work on smart police stations, border, and riverine check posts must be completed within the set timeframe. He further directed to expedite the upgradation of barracks and hostels in police training centers and police lines. According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, RPOs, CPOs, and DPOs assured the timely completion of development projects. Additional IG South Punjab, Additional IG CTD, RPOs, CPOs, DPOs, and relevant officers from Special Branch, SPU, and PHP also participated in the meeting via video link.
