Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP): Actively Serving and Protecting Citizens on Highways and Ensuring the Enforcement of Laws Across the Province
Performance report for April 2025 issued; 3.8 million individuals checked via e-Police Post app, 492 proclaimed offenders and court absconders arrested
Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) is actively working across the province to serve and protect citizens and ensure compliance with laws. In line with this, PHP has released its performance report for April 2025. The spokesperson for Punjab Police shared the details, stating that in April, PHP checked 3.8 million individuals on highways via the e-Police Post app. During the checks, 492 proclaimed offenders and court absconders were arrested. A total of 1.6 million vehicles were checked across the highways of Punjab, and 280 stolen vehicles/motorcycles were recovered. Legal action was taken against 45,091 overloaded vehicles for violating axle load regulations. Additionally, 1,259 vehicles were penalized for the illegal use of gas cylinders.
To facilitate citizens, 23,293 driving licenses were issued, and 64 missing children were reunited with their parents. Furthermore, 4,232 temporary and permanent encroachments were removed to improve traffic flow. A total of 12,173 travelers were provided various forms of assistance and guidance on the highways, while 18,125 citizens were provided different policing services at Police Service Centers.
In response to the illegal use of firearms, 77 cases were registered, resulting in the recovery of 4 Kalashnikovs, 12 rifles, 61 pistols, and hundreds of rounds of ammunition from the accused. Drug dealers were apprehended, with the recovery of 2,086 liters of alcohol, 4,730 grams of charas, and 100 grams of ice (crystal meth).
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar praised PHP for its excellent performance. He instructed police officers to continue working with dedication and sincerity to ensure the smooth flow of traffic and the safety and service of citizens.
