Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, directed to enhance security across the province, including Lahore. He said that security at mosques, imambargahs, shrines, and important locations must be ensured, while also emphasizing the vital role of the pulpit and mihrab in social reform and the provision of peace and justice.
IG Punjab instructed DPOs and senior officers to visit local mosques on the occasion of Jumma-tul-Mubarak and have police officers listen to public concerns after Friday prayers. IG Punjab said that according to the spirit and teachings of Islam, mosques are being made a center of community connection. He added that mosques play an extremely important role in the reform, development, and progress of society. IG Punjab said that senior officers should listen to the problems of citizens at their doorsteps through mosques and solve them and also inform them about the services and facilities being provided by the police.
