Crackdown Intensifies on Illegally Residing Foreign Nationals Amid Current Border Situation.
12,945 Illegal Residents, Including Afghans, Deported from Across Punjab, Punjab Police Spokesperson
In light of the current border situation, Punjab Police has intensified the campaign to remove illegally residing foreign nationals across the province. A total of 12,945 illegal residents, including Afghans, have been deported from various parts of Punjab. Punjab Police spokesperson said that over 13,000 illegal residents have been shifted to holding centers during the campaign, while 99 illegal residents are currently present at holding points. The spokesperson further said that 5 holding centers have been established in Lahore and 46 across the province. IG Punjab said that the deportation policy is being implemented in accordance with international laws, and security remains on high alert. The evacuation of all illegal residents is being ensured, and human rights are being fully considered throughout the deportation process.
