197 Raids Conducted on Drug Dealers’ hideouts Across Punjab, Including Lahore, in the Last 24 Hours
103 Drug Dealers Arrested, FIRs Registered, Punjab Police Spokesperson
On the directions of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, and in line with the vision of a Drug-Free Punjab, 197 raids were conducted on drug dealers’ dens across the province, including Lahore, within the last 24 hours. A total of 103 drug dealers were arrested and FIRs were registered. Punjab Police spokesperson said that 50 kilograms of charas, 4 kilograms of ice (crystal meth), 1,203 liters of liquor, 3 kilograms of heroin, and other drugs were recovered from the possession of the suspects. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has ordered that special operations against drug dealers and smugglers should continue. He also instructed the officers to ensure the dismantling of the entire drug supply chain and the arrest of suspects involved in online drug trade. Intelligence-based operations around educational institutions and hostels should be further intensified.
