Head Constable Shahid Saleemi Visited Central Police Office, Met with IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar

Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, commended Head Constable Shahid Saleemi during a meeting at the Central Police Office for winning the hearts of Sikh pilgrims visiting for the Baisakhi Mela through his mesmerizing recitation of Sufi poetry and for projecting a positive image of Pakistan.IG Punjab remarked that the nation is proud of talented police officers like Shahid who are dedicated to protecting the country while also showcasing their God-given abilities. Sharing details, the spokesperson of Punjab Police said that Shahid Saleemi Gujar, a resident of Sheikhupura, joined Punjab Police 11 years ago after completing his graduation. Shahid is well-known in neighboring and other countries for his recitation of Naats and Sufi poetry.
The spokesperson further shared that Shahid Saleemi recites the works of Mian Muhammad Bakhsh, Khawaja Ghulam Farid, and Waris Shah. During his duty at the Nankana Sahib check post for the Baisakhi Mela, visiting Sikh pilgrims recognized him and requested him to recite Sufi poetry. The spokesperson added that three years ago, Sikh pilgrims in Farooqabad, Sheikhupura, also requested Shahid Saleemi to recite poetry on the greatness of mothers.
The religious and cultural festival Baisakhi Mela draws thousands of Indian Sikh pilgrims to Pakistan each year. On the occasion, Head Constable Shahid Saleemi said that the visiting Sikh pilgrims expressed deep affection for Punjab Police.
