In view of making Easter peaceful, Punjab Police's intelligence-based search, sweep, and combing operations are ongoing. As part of this crackdown , 432 combing operations were conducted in the last 24 hours, 14,857 suspicious individuals were checked, and 50 suspicious persons were taken into custody. Punjab Police spokesperson said while sharing details, said that 43 search and sweep operations were carried out and 1,968 individuals were interrogated, while 12 suspicious persons were arrested. Additionally, 228 proclaimed offenders involved in heinous crimes, 132 court absconders, and 57 habitual criminals were also arrested. A large quantity of illegal weapons and ammunition was recovered from the possession of criminals and suspicious individuals. During the action against criminal elements, 01 criminal was brought to justice while 05 were injured.
IG Punjab said that mock exercises of Punjab Police to suppress terrorists and criminal elements are also ongoing. Teams from Punjab Police, CTD, Special Branch, Elite Force, Rescue 1122, and other law enforcement agencies are participating in these mock exercises.
