Punjab Police's campaign for the evacuation of illegally residing foreign nationals is rapidly ongoing. As part of this continued effort, more than 11,000 illegally residing foreign nationals, including Afghans, have been deported from Lahore and across the province. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that during the campaign, 11,879 illegally residing individuals have been shifted to holding centers, while 763 illegal residents are currently present at holding points. The spokesperson of Punjab Police said that 05 holding centers have been established in Lahore and 46 across the province.
IG Punjab said that the policy of evacuation of illegally residing individuals is being implemented under international laws and the security is on high alert. He added that the evacuation of all illegal residents will be ensured and that human rights are being fully considered during the process. Dr. Usman Anwar instructed CCPO Lahore, RPOs, and DPOs to accelerate the evacuation process of illegally residing foreign migrants. IG Punjab further said that the identification of illegally residing foreign nationals is being carried out through the Special Branch, CTD, security agencies, and intelligence-based information.
