Investigation officers must prioritize cases of abuse against women and children, Additional IG Investigation Punjab Azhar Akram
A video link meeting was held at the Central Police Office under the chairmanship of Additional IG Investigation Branch Punjab, Azhar Akram. SSP Admin Investigation Branch Kashif Aslam, DSP Nasir Malik, and DSP Imran Haider attended the meeting, while all SSPs Investigation, SSPs RIB, and DSPs from across the province participated via video link. Additional IG Investigation instructed officers to prepare and submit challans to the courts in a timely manner and emphasized that investigation officers must give top priority to resolving cases of abuse involving women and children. He stressed that DNA tests must be conducted in all such cases. He further said that any delay in cases involving women and children will not be tolerated. Azhar Akram added that no innocent person should be falsely implicated in any case and that only specially trained investigators from the SSOI Unit should handle rape and abuse cases.
