Drug-Free Punjab: 1,369 raids on drug dealers’ hideouts across the province during the past week,
867 drug dealers arrested, cases registered, Punjab Police Spokesperson
On the instructions of Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, 1,369 raids were conducted on drug dealers’ hideouts across the province including Lahore in one week as part of the Drug-Free Punjab vision. During these raids, 867 drug dealers were arrested and cases were registered. Punjab Police spokesperson shared that 439 kilograms of charas, 29 kilograms of ice (crystal meth), and 44 kilograms of heroin were recovered from the possession of the arrested individuals, along with 8,636 liters of liquor and other narcotics. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has directed to further accelerate special operations against drug dealers and smugglers. He instructed officers to ensure the dismantling of drug supply chains and the arrest of those involved in online buying and selling of drugs. IG Punjab directed that intelligence-based operations around educational institutions and hostels should also be intensified.
