IG Punjab Complaint Center 1787: Actively working to resolve public grievances 

On the directions of IG Punjab, Additional IG, DIG IAB, and AIG Complaints are addressing citizens' concerns, Punjab Police Spokesperson

IG Punjab Complaint Center 1787 is actively working for the resolution of public grievances. As part of this mission, on the instructions of Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, the Additional IG, DIG IAB, and AIG Complaints are personally listening to and resolving citizens' complaints. According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, 35,000 complaints have been received at the IG Complaint Center 1787 during the first three months of this year, and 94% of the complaints have been resolved. On a daily basis, directives are issued for the resolution of more than one thousand complaints received in 1787.

The spokesperson further said that 2,805 FIRs have been registered in response to citizens' complaints. Issues related to the registration of FIRs, poor investigation, and requests for change of investigation have been addressed. Complaints against police officers and personnel, as well as those related to police services, are being resolved. Additionally, grievances of departmental employees, serving officers, martyrs’ families, and retired officers are also being addressed.

After a complaint is registered, it is forwarded to the relevant field officer from SDPO to RPO. The concerned officer is required to contact the applicant within 24 hours and report back to the IG Complaint Center. Citizens can call IG Complaint Center 1787 daily from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM to register their complaints. IG Punjab has directed officers to ensure strict compliance with the issued SOPs, and to provide timely redressal of complaints within the specified timeline, as well as to strictly implement the policy of free registration of FIRs.
