Dangerous Proclaimed Offender Wanted in Double Murder Case Arrested While Attempting to Flee Abroad via Pakistan-Iran Border, Punjab Police Spokesperson
Punjab Police Special Operations Cell achieved a major breakthrough by arresting a dangerous proclaimed offender wanted in a double murder case while he was attempting to flee the country via the Pakistan-Iran border. A police team from Gujranwala is en route from Quetta with the arrested accused. With this arrest, the total number of dangerous proclaimed offenders captured from abroad this year has reached 19.
According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, the arrested offender, Muhammad Sufyan, was wanted by Gujranwala Police in connection with a double murder case. His name had been placed on the passport control list to prevent escape.IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar commended the RPO and CPO Gujranwala on the arrest of the high-profile offender involved in a serious criminal case.IG Punjab directed officers to intensify the crackdown on dangerous proclaimed offenders who are absconding abroad.IG Punjab further instructed that with the assistance of FIA, Interpol, and other relevant agencies, the arrest of other proclaimed offenders hiding overseas must also be ensured.
