According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, IG Punjab reviewed measures related to presenting complete records of accused individuals before the courts in various cases. He directed that SDPOs and SHOs ensure that investigating officers are fully prepared before appearing in court. Investigation officers must thoroughly brief the relevant law officers on case history and records. They should appear in court fully prepared, bringing along all required measures such as identification parade documents, forensic reports, history of the accused, and other relevant records. IG Punjab further emphasized that investigation officers should regularly attend District Standing Medical Board proceedings. RPOs and DPOs were instructed to expedite the completion of pending challans in serious crime cases.
IG Punjab said that the Case Management System has improved coordination among the police, judiciary, prosecution, and prison departments. A pilot project for the Case Management System has already been launched in Lahore and Rahim Yar Khan. Under this automated system, police records will automatically be updated regarding a convict’s imprisonment and release proceedings.
