Punjab Police’s campaign for the evacuation of illegal immigrants continues, during which 6,132 illegal residents have been deported from Lahore and across the province. Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, said that during the campaign, more than 8,227 illegal immigrants have been moved to holding centers, while 2,095 illegal residents are still present at the holding points. Punjab Police spokesperson shared that 5 holding centers have been established in Lahore, and 46 centers have been set up across the province. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar emphasized that Pakistan, like other countries, is adhering to international deportation policies. Nearly 89,000 illegal residents' data is available, including ACC holders. The federal government and sensitive agencies are monitoring the deportation campaign of illegal residents. Dr. Usman Anwar further mentioned that during the evacuation of illegal residents from Punjab, security remains on high alert, and human rights are being fully respected during the process. CCPO Lahore, RPOs, and DPOs have been instructed to expedite the process of evacuating illegal foreign nationals. Special Branch, CTD, security agencies, and intelligence-based information are being used to identify illegal foreign immigrants.
