In line with the commendable initiatives taken by Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif for special operations against kacha criminals, khawarji terrorists, and actions against miscreants and criminals, the process of bulletproofing Punjab Police vehicles is underway. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that single and double cabin bulletproof vehicles will be used during special operations against kacha criminals. To protect border post personnel from external terrorist attacks, bulletproofing of police vehicles will safeguard the lives of officers and personnel operating in hard areas. IG Punjab expressed heartfelt gratitude for this police-friendly initiative by the Chief Minister of Punjab.
Dr. Usman Anwar further said that CTD (Counter Terrorism Department) will also be provided bulletproof vehicles for conducting raids against terrorists and miscreants. Bulletproof vehicles are being provided to the Crime Control Department (CCD) for actions against dangerous wanted criminals involved in heinous crimes and other criminals. Similarly, bulletproof vehicles are being provided to Special Branch personnel for reporting and handling other sensitive tasks. Dr. Usman Anwar added that bulletproofing of police vehicles would expedite operations against terrorists, miscreants, and criminals. The use of bulletproof vehicles will help in carrying out effective operations against kacha dacoits and terrorists at border posts.
