IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar Conferred the Rank of Inspector on 67 Promoted Officers.
Under the direction of Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, a ceremony was held at the Central Police Office Lahore to confer the rank of Inspector on officers promoted from Sub-Inspector. In the ceremony, IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar conferred the rank of Inspector on 67 promoted officers. The parents, children, family members, and relatives of the promoted Inspectors specially attended the ceremony. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar and other senior police officers congratulated the promoted Inspectors and their families. Punjab Police spokesperson shared that the son of Shaheed DSP Tariq Kamboh, also included in the list of promoted officers to the rank of Inspector. It is noteworthy that a special block at the Central Police Office is named after Shaheed Tariq Kamboh. Former DSP Umar Virk also attended the ceremony and conferred the rank of Inspector on his nephew. In the ceremony, 31 officers from Lahore, 19 from Faisalabad, 10 from Gujranwala, and 7 from Sheikhupura were conferred promotion to the rank of Inspector. While addressing the promoted officers, IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that, over the past two and a half years, 1533 Sub-Inspectors have been promoted to the rank of Inspector.
In the upcoming phases, 257 Head Constables will be promoted to ASIs, 449 to Inspectors, 29 to DSPs, and 6 officers will be promoted to the rank of SP. This year, a total of approximately 4500 promotions will occur across various ranks. IG Punjab instructed the officers, stating that in response to promotions and welfare, they should serve the citizens selflessly and ensure their fearless protection. Dr. Usman Anwar emphasized that transparency in recruitments, promotions, and postings, along with the use of digital technology, has been fully ensured. Security, law and order, terrorism, and religious intolerance are the most pressing challenges facing the police. Punjab Police stands as a strong barrier against terrorists at border checkposts and against dacoits in kacha areas. The use of modern technology, advanced information systems, optimal service delivery, and the provision of justice must be ensured. Additional IG Welfare & Finance Imran Irshad, DIG Establishment-1 Suleman Sultan Rana, DIG Headquarters Dr. Muhammad Abid Khan, DIG Establishment-II Captain (Retd.) Liaquat Ali Malik, and AIG Welfare Abdul Rahim Sherazi, along with other senior officers, were present in the ceremony.
