Punjab Police Intensified Action Against Criminal Elements: 139 Members of 47 Gangs Arrested in the Past Week
1163 Proclaimed Offenders, 472 Judicial Absconders, and 322 Habitual Offenders Arrested, Punjab Police Spokesperson
In line with the directives of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr Usman Anwar, Punjab Police's crackdown on criminal elements continues. As part of this ongoing crackdown, 139 members of 47 criminal gangs were arrested over the past week. Punjab Police spokesperson shared that 1163 proclaimed offenders, 472 judicial absconders, and 322 habitual offenders were apprehended.
Additionally, 476 weapons, including Kalashnikovs, pistols, rifles, revolvers, and shotguns, along with thousands of rounds of ammunition, were seized from the arrested criminals. Police also recovered 181 motorcycles, 83 mobile phones, and cash amounting to 45 million rupees.
The spokesperson further said that, as a result of these operations, 15 robbers were neutralized, and 13 were arrested in a wounded condition. IG Punjab, Dr Usman Anwar, has instructed to continue operations against criminal elements across the province.
