Significant success of Punjab Police Special Operations Cell

 

Punjab Police Special Operations Cell has achieved remarkable success by arresting two dangerous proclaimed offenders wanted in heinous crimes such as murder and attempted murder from the United Arab Emirates and bringing them back to Pakistan.

Punjab Police spokesperson said that the Punjab Police Special Operations Team, led by Inspector Khalid Waryah, arrived at Islamabad Airport from Dubai along with the arrested offenders.

With this, the number of dangerous proclaimed offenders arrested from abroad this year has reached 18.

The spokesperson further shared that proclaimed offender Waleed Sajjad was wanted by Gujranwala Police in two separate cases for injuring citizens in attempted murder through gunfire. The second dangerous offender, Ali Zaib, was wanted by Gujranwala Police since 2023 in a murder case of a citizen.

These proclaimed offenders, after committing crimes, had fled to the United Arab Emirates. Punjab Police had Red Notices issued for these offenders through Interpol. UAE police authorities handed both offenders over to the Punjab Police team.

IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has appreciated RPO Tayyab Hafeez Cheema and CPO Gujranwala Rana Ayaz Saleem for arresting the proclaimed offenders wanted in heinous crimes.

IG Punjab directed the officers to accelerate the crackdown for the arrest of dangerous proclaimed offenders who are fugitives abroad. With the help of FIA, Interpol, and other agencies, ensure the arrest of other proclaimed offenders absconding in foreign countries.
