Government campaign for the repatriation of illegally residing migrants, deportation process continues without interruption

In light of the government campaign for the repatriation of illegally residing migrants, the deportation process is continuing without interruption, during which 1,336 individuals have been deported from the country with the help of relevant institutions. Punjab Police spokesperson, providing details, said that during the past 24 hours, more than 2,772 illegally residing foreigners have been shifted to holding centers. 2,810 illegally residing foreign individuals are already present at the holding points.

A total of 46 holding centers have been established across the province for the repatriation of illegal migrants.

IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that all illegally residing foreign migrants will be sent back at any cost, and security is on high alert during the repatriation of illegally residing individuals from Punjab.

In coordination with relevant institutions, the migrants are being transferred out of Punjab’s jurisdiction from designated points. Arrangements for transportation, logistics, and food are the responsibility of the relevant district administration.

Dr. Usman Anwar directed that CCPO Lahore, RPOs, and DPOs speed up the process of repatriating illegally residing foreign migrants.

Illegal foreign residents are being identified through Special Branch, CTD, security institutions, and intelligence-based information.

IG Punjab further said that checking should be conducted according to the mapping, scanning, and screening of illegally residing foreign individuals.

Respect for human rights is being ensured during the repatriation process. All regional and district police officers should maintain close coordination with the district administration and relevant institutions during the repatriation process.
