IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar Extends Eid-ul-Fitr Greetings to the Citizens of Lahore and the Entire Province.

Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, extended Eid-ul-Fitr greetings to the citizens of Lahore and the entire province. He also conveyed his best wishes to Punjab Police officers and personnel on the occasion of Eid. Under the directives of IG Punjab, police teams remained on high alert during Eid-ul-Fitr, ensuring comprehensive security for citizens to perform their religious duties in a peaceful and secure environment. The spokesperson of Punjab Police provided details, that over 47,000 officers and personnel were deployed across the province to secure more than 29,000 Eid congregations, including 9,000 officers and personnel in the provincial capital, Lahore.

IG Punjab instructed that with the assistance of Special Branch, CTD, and security agencies, a strict watch should be maintained on terrorists and disruptive elements. Given the country’s security situation, personnel stationed at interprovincial borders and riverine police check posts remained highly vigilant. Continuous CCTV monitoring of mosques, Imambargahs, and key locations was ensured. Dolphin Squad, PRU, and Elite teams were deployed for effective patrolling around mosques, markets, and important locations. Strict measures were taken to prevent one-wheeling, aerial firing, hooliganism, and kite flying. Following IG Punjab’s directives, RPOs and DPOs personally supervised Eid-ul-Fitr security arrangements. Additionally, extra personnel were deployed on major highways, recreational spots, and public places to ensure smooth traffic flow.
