Punjab Police Intensified Action Against Anti-State and Criminal Elements ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr

IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar directed to accelerate Search and Combing Operations Across the Province۔

On the directives of Inspector General (IG) Punjab Police, Dr. Usman Anwar, Punjab Police has intensified its operations against anti-state and criminal elements in light of the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr. Punjab Police spokesperson revealed that in the past 24 hours, 43 intelligence-based operations were conducted across the province. During these operations, 5,660 individuals were interrogated, and 09 suspects were taken into custody. Additionally, in the last 24 hours, 551 combing operations were carried out, involving questioning of 17,354 individuals. As a result, 61 suspects were arrested, and illegal weapons and ammunition were recovered. The spokesperson further said that during the search and combing operations, 225 proclaimed offenders, 161 court absconders, and 119 habitual criminals were also apprehended. During these operations against criminals, three dacoits were neutralized, while one was arrested. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has ordered the continuation of search, sweep, and intelligence-based combing operations at an accelerated pace. He emphasized that search and combing operations must be conducted regularly at sensitive locations, educational institutions, bus terminals, hotels, and inns. Furthermore, IG Punjab directed that all elements involved in unlawful activities must be brought to justice without exception.
