Jumma-tul-Wida, Punjab Police remained on high alert for the security of mosques, Imambargahs, worshippers

Security has been increased across the province, including mosques, Imambargahs, religious places, on Jumma-tul-Wida, IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar۔ More than 36,000 mosques, 2,267 Imambargahs, and around 600 minority places of worship across the province are being provided with full security, IG Punjab

On the instructions of Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, Punjab Police remained on high alert and provided security to mosques, Imambargahs, and worshippers on the occasion of Jumma-tul-Wida. IG Punjab said that security should be increased across the province, including mosques, Imambargahs and religious places, on Jumma-tul-Wida. More than 75,000 police officers, officials and community volunteers were deployed for the security of mosques, Imambargahs and religious places. Fool proof security is being provided to all 36,000 mosques, 2,267 Imambargahs and around 600 minority places of worship across the province, including Lahore. With the cooperation of citizens, Ramadan is going on peaceful. More than 200 walk-through gates and more than 14,000 metal detectors were used for checking at sensitive mosques and Imambargahs. IG Punjab directed the officers to increase search operations and patrolling around mosques, places of worship and religious places. Dolphin Squad, PRU, Elite Teams should patrol effectively around mosques, places of worship and markets. All activities should be continuously monitored with the help of Safe City cameras. IG Punjab further said that RPOs and DPOs should be in touch with the members and administrators of the peace and mosque committees of their area. Ulemas, great scholars should spread interfaith harmony, brotherhood and peace.
