On the instructions of Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, laptops were given as gifts to the talented children of police martyrs on the arrival of Eid-ul-Fitr, in continuation of which a ceremony was held at the Central Police Office Punjab, Lahore. In the ceremony, DIG Welfare and Finance Ghazi Muhammad Salahuddin and AIG Welfare Abdul Rahim Sherazi distributed modern laptops among 50 talented children of police martyrs. Giving details, spokesperson of Punjab Police said that those who received laptops include students studying in modern programs including medical, IT, Engineering, MPhil and PhD. IG Punjab said that so far, laptops have been provided to 173 children of police martyrs. Modern laptops will prove helpful in the educational career and development of the students. Scholarships worth more than Rs. 260 million have been provided to the children of police martyrs so far. Dr. Usman Anwar further said that the department has taken up the higher education of the children of martyrs and all facilities are being provided.
