Punjab Police is at the forefront among the provincial departments benefiting from solar energy. The process of shifting all police stations, check posts and offices of Punjab Police to solar system is going on rapidly. Punjab Police spokesperson shared that 369 police stations and 03 PHP check posts have been shifted to solar system. 80 police stations in Gujranwala region, 49 in Sargodha, 45 in Lahore, 41 in Bahawalpur and 40 in Rawalpindi have been shifted to solar energy system. Similarly, 32 police stations in DG Khan, 30 in Sahiwal, 26 in Faisalabad and 26 in Sheikhupura region have been shifted to solar system. Punjab Police spokesperson further said that all police posts and campuses in the Kacha area have also been shifted to solar system. A plan has been formulated to gradually shift all other police stations and posts of Punjab Police to solar system. Dr. Usman Anwar said that all offices, police stations and posts of Punjab Police will be shifted to solar system this year. Shifting to solar system will save Punjab Police crores of rupees in monthly electricity bills.
