On the instructions of Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, in view of the arrival of Eid-ul-Fitr, Punjab Police is in action against criminal elements across the province, in the continuation of which 46 operatives of 19 gangs were arrested, 316 proclaimed offenders, 89 court fugitives and 78 habitual criminals were arrested in the last 24 hours. Punjab Police spokesperson said that 95 weapons including Kalashnikovs, pistols, rifles, revolvers, guns and hundreds of bullets were recovered from the possession of the accused. 35 motorcycles, 21 mobile phones, 81 cattle, 25 tolas of gold and Rs 5 million in cash were also recovered. Punjab Police spokesperson further said that in the operations against the criminal elements, 01 robber killed while 03 accused were arrested in an injured condition. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar directed the officers to intensify the operations against the criminals.
