910 drug peddlers arrested, cases registered, Punjab Police Spokesperson
On the directions of Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, in the implementation of the Drug-Free Punjab vision, 1685 raids were conducted on drug peddlers’ hideouts across the province including Lahore during the past week and 910 drug peddlers were arrested and cases were registered. Punjab Police Spokesperson said that 448 kilograms of charas, 51 kilograms of heroin were recovered from the possession of drug peddlers, while 83 kilograms of ice and more than 12,500 liters of liquor were also recovered. Dr. Usman Anwar has instructed to continue special operations against drug dealers and smugglers. IG Punjab directed the officers to ensure the elimination of the drug supply chain and the arrest of the accused involved in online buying and selling. Intelligence-based operations around educational institutions and hostels should be further accelerated.
