Punjab Police Dera Ghazi Khan successfully foiled another attack by Khawarji terrorists. Khawarji terrorists attacked Lakhani check post of Wahwa police station on Punjab & Khyber Pakhtunkhwa border for the fifth time this month. Punjab Police spokesperson, while giving details, said that 10 to 12 Khawarji terrorists attacked Lakhani check post from three sides at Sehri time. The terrorists used rocket launchers and other heavy weapons in the attack. The police personnel upon being alerted, the terrorists were immediately identified with thermal image cameras. The terrorists were unable to approach the check post due to the vigorous response of the police personnel. After two hours of fighting, the terrorists escaped with heavy losses. RPO Dera Ghazi Khan Captain (retd) Sajjad Hassan Khan commanded the operation and QRF teams under the command of DPO Dera Ghazi Khan Syed Ali reached the Lakhani checkpost on time. Punjab Police spokesperson further said that a search operation by the police and other law enforcement agencies is underway in the border area. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, while praising the personnel who bravely fought the terrorists, said that the Khawarji terrorists cannot shake our resolve with cowardly attacks and the Punjab Police is a lead wall in front of the Khawarji terrorists.
