LAHORE, July 23: On the instructions of CCPO Chaudhry Shafique Ahmad, the Citizen Feedback Cell has got feedback by contacting 2,059 citizens who registered their complaints on 15 during June.
According to a press release, 1,765 citizens said legal action had been taken on their complaints, while action was pending against 294 complaints.
The head of the Citizen Feedback Cell, Internal Accountability Division SSP Shahzad Akbar, issued orders for immediate action to the SHOs concerned on the pending application, upon which 106 cases were registered while action was being taken against 188 complaints.
The DIG (operations) was directed to take action against Shadbagh SHO Muhammad Arham, North Cantt SHO Muhammad Afzal, Baghbanpura SHO Ghulam Dastagir, Raiwind City SHO Muhammad Sibtain, Nawab Town SHO Nazir Upal and Green Town SHO Sheikh Hammad Akhtar for delaying action on citizens’ applications.
Show-cause notices were issued to Liaquatabad SHO Waqasul Hasan, Naseerabad SHO Ahmed Nawaz, Ichhra SHO Nasir Khan, Samanabad SHO Anwar Saeed and Satukatla SHO Majid Bashir for using delaying tactics and mentioning wrong sections in registration of cases. Later, on the intervention of the Citizen Feedback Cell correct sections were stated in FIRs.
SSP Shahzad Akbar told citizens his doors were open for them and in case of any difficulty in registration of a case they could directly contact him at his office on 042-99201366 and 0321-9474414, the press release added.
SHO suspended: DIG (Operations) Muhammad Tahir Rai on Tuesday suspended Shalimar Station House Officer Sub-Inspector Mazhar Iqbal from service on public complaints.
The SHO was found indulged in corruption, misuse of authority and illegal detention.
