Central Police Office: Ceremony for Officers Promoted from DSP to SP Rank
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar Conferred SP Ranks to Promoted Officers, Punjab Police Spokesperson
Following the directives of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, a ceremony was held at the Central Police Office for officers promoted from DSP to SP rank. IG Punjab, along with senior officers, conferred the SP rank on the promoted officers. Spokesperson for Punjab Police shared that the officers promoted to the SP rank attended the ceremony with their families. Dr. Usman Anwar congratulated the officers and their families and urged them to carry out their duties with even greater dedication.
Dr. Usman Anwar further said that 22 to 25 new SP positions would be created in various units, including CCD, Cyber Crime, and Right Management Force. He added that around 4,000 promotions from Constable to DSP would take place in the near future. A promotion board will be held on March 21 for promotions from Inspector to DSP and on March 25 for promotions from Sub-Inspector to Inspector. Last year, 138 Inspectors were promoted to DSP ranks, and 393 Sub-Inspectors were promoted to Inspector ranks. Over the past two years, 505 Inspectors have been promoted to DSP ranks. IG Punjab also mentioned that an advanced schedule for promotions from Constable to SP rank has already been set. The ceremony was attended by the Additional IG Punjab, Additional IG Welfare & Finance, Additional IG Traffic Punjab, Additional IG Operations Punjab, Additional IG CTD, MD Punjab Safe Cities Authority, DIG Headquarters, DIGs Establishment I & II, and AIG Finance, along with other officers.
