Punjab Police intensifying operations against organized crime, proclaimed criminals, and drug dealers
Under the guidance of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, during the holy month of Ramadan, Punjab Police, including Lahore and the entire province, is determined and actively engaged in ensuring peace, order, and security. In this regard, Punjab Police has intensified its operations against organized crime, proclaimed criminals, and drug dealers. Spokesperson for Punjab Police shared the details, stating that in the last 24 hours, during police operations, 10 gangs involved in serious crimes were dismantled, and 23 of their members were arrested. The police arrested 188 proclaimed offenders, 33 judicial absconders, and 15 targeted offenders. The police recovered 02 vehicles, 20 motorcycles, 12 mobile phones, 03 livestock, and 3 million rupees in cash from the criminals. From the possession of the criminals, 05 Kalashnikovs, 06 rifles, 74 pistols, 07 shotguns, 01 revolver, and hundreds of bullets were also recovered. During the past 24 hours, 110 drug dealers were arrested, and cases were registered. The spokesperson for Punjab Police further mentioned that from the possession of the drug dealers, 48 kg of charas, 07 kg of heroin, 05 kg of ice, and 892 liters of alcohol were recovered. During police encounters, 03 criminals were arrested in an injured condition, while 01 police official was also injured. IG Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, said that intelligence-based operations and crackdowns will be further intensified to eliminate organized crimes.
