World Hearing Day: Punjab Police is ensuring quick rehabilitation of hearing-impaired children of its employees.

World Hearing Day: Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar is ensuring quick rehabilitation of the hearing-impaired children of police employees and is spending more than Rs. 1.6 million per child on cochlear implant surgery to restore it's hearing. Punjab Police spokesperson, while giving details, said that so far funds have been released for cochlear implant surgery of 33 children. So far 05 crores, 84 lakh and 40 thousands rupees have been given to police employees for cochlear implant surgery. IG Punjab said that more than Rs 01 crore 83,000 has been given to 160 children of police employees who have lost their hearing due to any accident or illness for hearing aids and after the surgery, scholarships worth lakhs of rupees are also being given to the children to restore their speech through speech therapy. With cochlear implant surgery, special children are able to hear normally while after speech therapy, they are able to speak and listen. IG Punjab further said that vigorous measures will be continued for the rehabilitation of hearing-impaired children of police employees.
