Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP): Actively Serving and Protecting Citizens on Highways and Ensuring the Enforcement of Laws Across the Province

A performance report for the month of February 2025 was issued; 3.1 million individuals were checked via the e-Police Post App on highways, and 680 proclaimed offenders and absconders were arrested.

Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) is actively engaged in serving and protecting citizens on highways and ensuring the enforcement of laws across the province. In continuation of this, PHP has issued the performance report for February 2025. Punjab Police spokesperson provided details, stating that in February, PHP checked 3.1 million individuals on highways via the e-Police Post App. During the checking process, 680 proclaimed offenders and absconders were arrested. PHP checked 1.5 million vehicles across the highways of Punjab, and 261 stolen vehicles/motorcycles were recovered. Legal action was taken against 43,866 overloaded vehicles for violating axle load regulations. A total of 1,167 vehicles were fined for illegal use of gas cylinders. In an effort to facilitate citizens, more than 13,000 driving licences were issued. Under the community policing initiative, 30 missing children were reunited with their parents. Additionally, 401 temporary and permanent encroachments were removed to improve traffic flow. A total of 11,997 passengers were provided with various types of assistance and guidance on highways. Over 16,000 citizens received various police services at police service centres. Seventy cases were registered for the illegal use of firearms, and 932 litres of alcohol, 1,555 grams of charas, and 120 grams of heroin were recovered from drug dealers. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar praised PHP for its excellent performance. Dr Usman Anwar also directed police officers to continue providing exemplary services for the smooth flow of traffic and the safety and protection of citizens.
