An anti-crime meeting of Rawalpindi and Sargodha regions was held under the chairmanship of Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar at Central Police Office Punjab Lahore. IG Punjab reviewed crime control, law & order and security situations in the Rawalpindi and Sargodha regions. RPO Rawalpindi Babar Sarfraz Alpa, RPO Sargodha Dr. Shahzad Asif Khan, relevant CPO and DPOs participated in the meeting via video link. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar instructed to increase the security of mosques, imambargahs, shrines, markets and important places. IG Punjab appreciated the performance of the Rawalpindi region for ensuring a law and order situation, while the rate of challaning, arrest of proclaimed offenders and recovery in both regions was declared unsatisfactory. IG Punjab directed that FIRs should be registered immediately and strict action should be taken against SHOs who delay unnecessarily. IG Punjab directed RPO Rawalpindi to personally contact the complainants to verify the calls of 15 and submit a report. Steps should be further accelerated for the recovery of missing women and children and resolution of rape cases. RPOs and DPOs should personally ensure the resolution of citizens complaints received on 1787, CM and other complaint portals. DPOs should conduct weekly tasking with investigation officers to arrest organised gangs and proclaimed offenders. Regular maintenance and inspection of special initiative police stations, logistics, and transport. Complete the Safe Cities and Smart Police Stations projects of Rawalpindi and Sargodha as soon as possible. IGP Punjab directed to increase community policing and engagement by improving communication with citizens and public representatives. Additional IG Operations Punjab Shahzada Sultan, Additional IG Investigation, DIG Operations Punjab Waqas Nazir and AIG Monitoring were present in the meeting.
