IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar actively working to provide quality higher education to police employees.

57 meritorious personnel of Punjab Police are studying on scholarships at a private university. Punjab Police spokesperson 

 Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, is actively working to provide modern and higher education to police employees. In continuation of this, scholarships are being given to police officers of every rank for Master’s, MBA, MPhil, and PhD degrees. Punjab Police spokesperson provided details that 57 meritorious personnel of Punjab Police are studying at a private university on scholarships, and the private university (UMT) has so far provided over 3.71 crore rupees in scholarships to the police personnel. The personnel are studying in various fields, including Security and Strategic Studies, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, and Information Security, among others. The spokesperson of Punjab Police further mentioned that last year, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between Punjab Police and the university for the education of police officers and personnel. Under this MOU, a special fund of 5 crore rupees annually was established at the university for the education of police employees. IG Punjab said that police officers contribute 10% of the educational expenses, while 90% is covered by the university’s scholarship. Police officers are pursuing higher education in modern policing and other important subjects at the private university. Dr. Usman Anwar further said that last year, more than 78 crore 10 lakh rupees were spent on educational scholarships for the children of police employees. Measures are being taken at every level to improve the performance of the force.
