Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar suddenly reached the under-construction Smart Police Station Islampura. He visited different parts of Smart Police Station Islampura and reviewed the construction work. Spokesperson Punjab Police Punjab Police said that IG Punjab inspected various departments, including front desk, waiting room, SHO and investigation rooms, lock-ups and warehouse (Mall Khana). IG Punjab directed the concerned officers to complete the construction work of Smart Police Station this month. IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar said that smart police stations in densely populated areas of Punjab are compatible with innovation and facilities, and security has been kept in special consideration in the construction of smart police stations. 22 in Lahore and 39 smart police stations across the province are in the final stages of rapid completion. IG Punjab said that all smart police stations will be functional on Special Initiative Police Stations protocols and SOPs. Smart police stations are being constructed on 01 to 02 kanals of land in densely populated areas. All smart police stations of Lahore Police are being constructed on government land at a lower cost than in the past. Punjab Police spokesperson said that 10 police stations established in rented buildings, such as Islampura Police Station Lahore, were previously paying crores of rupees in rent. The construction of 10 smart police stations on government land will save crores of rupees annually to the national exchequer. Police stations Islampura, Sanda, Millat Park, Gujjarpura, Kot Lakhpat, Police Station Shalamar, Samanabad, Shafiqabad, Shad Bagh and Johar Town were also previously in rented buildings and were paying crores of rupees in annual rent. Punjab Police spokesperson further said that 03 smart police stations are being constructed in Multan, 02 in Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Rahim Yar Khan, Rawalpindi and Sialkot, while 01 smart police station is being constructed in Attock, Gujrat, Sahiwal and Sheikhupura.
