Kashmir Solidarity Day: Punjab Police salutes the courageous struggle of the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir : IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar

 

Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, said that Punjab Police salutes the courageous struggle of the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir on Kashmir Solidarity Day. IG Punjab said that the people of occupied Kashmir have been fighting for freedom, the right to self-determination, and survival for many decades. On Kashmir Solidarity Day, security remained on high alert across the province, and more than 11,000 police officers and personnel were deployed for security and traffic arrangements, keeping a close watch on miscreants and anti-national elements, including in Lahore. Punjab Police spokesperson said that 175 supervisory officers, 240 inspectors, and 1,550 upper subordinates performed security duties, while 300 female police officers and 9,000 constables were deployed for security duties. Over 450 programs across the province, including in Lahore, were provided foolproof security on Kashmir Solidarity Day. The spokesperson further mentioned that on Kashmir Solidarity Day, 346 rallies, 84 seminars, and 23 other events were held. The IG Punjab said that additional personnel were deployed at sensitive locations where Kashmir Solidarity rallies and A-category programs were held and the process of checking was intensified at the internal and external routes of cities. On the directives of Dr. Usman Anwar, the RPOs, CPOs, DPOs, and traffic officers personally supervised the security and traffic arrangements for the Kashmir Solidarity Day events.
