Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) is actively working across the province to serve and protect citizens and ensure the enforcement of laws on the highways. In continuation of this effort, PHP has released its performance report for January 2025
According to the details shared by the Punjab Police spokesperson, PHP checked 3.3 million citizens on the roads via the E-Police Post App. During these checks, 632 proclaimed offenders and judicial fugitives were arrested. PHP also checked 1.4 million vehicles across the province, recovering 221 stolen cars/motorcycles. Legal action was taken against 46,168 overloaded vehicles for violating axle load regulations. Additionally, 1,345 vehicles were fined for the illegal use of gas cylinders. For the convenience of citizens, 17,698 driving licenses were issued, and 44 missing children were reunited with their parents. A total of 338 temporary and permanent encroachments were removed to improve traffic flow. PHP also provided various types of assistance and guidance to 13,178 passengers on the roads.
Punjab Police spokesperson further shared that 17,131 citizens were provided various policing services at Police Khidmat Marakaz. In addition, 85 cases were registered for illegal use of weapons and 1,105 liters of alcohol, 1,150 grams of charas, and 100 grams of heroin were seized from drug dealers. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar praised the officers and personnel of PHP for their excellent performance. He further directed police officers to work diligently and with sincerity in maintaining smooth traffic flow and ensuring the safety and service of citizens.
