Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) ensuring the safety and provision of best services to citizens on highways across the province
Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) is dedicated to ensuring the safety and service of citizens on highways throughout the province. According to the details, the Punjab Police spokesperson said that in the first 25 days of this year, PHP checked 2.3 million citizens through the E-Police Post app on highways. During these checks, 394 proclaimed offenders and Court absconders were arrested. Across Punjab, 957,223 vehicles were inspected, and 139 stolen vehicles and motorcycles were recovered.
Legal action was taken against 26,785 overloaded vehicles for violating axle load limits, and 1,000 vehicles were fined for the illegal use of gas cylinders. For citizens’ convenience, 10,019 driving licenses were issued and 57 missing children were reunited with their parents. Furthermore, 398 temporary and permanent encroachments were removed to improve traffic flow, and 7,924 travelers were provided with various types of assistance and guidance on highways.
Spokesperson further said that 10,127 citizens received various policing services at police service centers. Additionally, 59 cases were registered for the illegal use of weapons and drugs, including 759 liters of alcohol, 1,150 grams of charas, and 100 grams of heroin, was recovered from drug peddlers.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar praised the Punjab Highway Patrol for its outstanding performance and directed them to continue performing their duties with dedication to ensure smooth traffic flow, and the safety and service of citizens.
