Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar paid rich tributes to the martyred policemen on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of 07 police martyrs of Gujrat. IGP Punjab said that Punjab Police salutes the great sons who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty and their families. IG Punjab said that on this day in 1990, 07 officers and personnel of Punjab Police sacrificed their precious lives while on duty. Among the martyrs were 01 sub-inspectors and 06 officials. He further said that the memory of the martyred police of Gujrat will always be fresh in our hearts. Punjab Police is a guardian force of more than 1650 martyrs and the immortal sacrifices of the martyrs will never be forgotten. IG Punjab said that every soldier of Punjab Police is a lead wall for the protection of the country and the nation and against terrorists. All possible steps are being taken for the best welfare of the families of the martyred police.
