CTO orders suspension of cops seeking transfers using political influence

LAHORE: Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Athar Waheed has taken a firm stance against traffic wardens seeking transfers through political or personal influence, ordering the suspension of such individuals.In a directive issued on Monday, the CTO stated that any warden found using external influence for their transfer should consider themselves suspended. He further announced that wardens caught engaging in this practice would be sent to the Manawan Lines as a disciplinary measure. The decision was communicated to traffic officers, senior wardens, traffic wardens, and traffic assistants via a wireless message. The CTO emphasised that professionalism and adherence to the chain of command are critical for maintaining discipline within the traffic police force. The Lahore traffic police have been under scrutiny for inefficiencies and complaints regarding internal practices.
