PHP Annual Performance Report for 2024 Released

Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) has released its annual performance report for 2024, highlighting its efforts in providing service and safety to citizens while ensuring the enforcement of laws on highways across the province. Punjab Police spokesperson shared details that in 2024, PHP checked 31.4 million citizens via the e-Police Post App. During these checks, 6,537 fugitives and judicial absconders were arrested. Spokesperson further mentioned that PHP checked 18.8 million vehicles across the province’s highways and recovered 3,350 stolen vehicles/motorcycles. In addition, legal action was taken against 869,000 overloaded vehicles for violating axle load limits, while over 12,000 vehicles were penalized for illegal use of gas cylinders. Spokesperson also shared that, in terms of public convenience, 148,000 driving licenses were issued, and 678 missing children were reunited with their parents. Furthermore, 5,005 temporary and permanent encroachments were removed to improve traffic flow. Over 112,000 passengers received assistance and guidance on the highways. Additionally, 119,000 citizens were provided various policing services at police service centers. Regarding illegal weapon usage, 1,093 cases were registered, and hundreds of suspects were arrested. From drug dealers, 20,925 liters of liquor, 400 kilograms of charas, 53 kilograms of opium, and 5.5 kilograms of heroin were seized.  IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar congratulated the officers and personnel of the Punjab Highway Patrol for their excellent performance and instructed them to continue their diligent work with sincerity to ensure smooth traffic flow, as well as the safety and service of citizens in the current year.
