Year 2024: Punjab Police Performance Report Against menace of Drug

Under Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif's "Drug-Free Punjab" vision, anti-drug operations by the police continued throughout the year, Punjab Police Spokesperson.

In 2024, over 112,000 raids were conducted on drug dealers' hideouts across the province, Punjab Police Spokesperson.

Punjab Police has released the performance report for 2024 regarding action against the menace of drugs. Under the "Drug-Free Punjab" vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, anti-drug operations by the police continued throughout the year. Punjab Police Spokesperson shared that in 2024, over 112,000 raids were conducted on drug dealers' hideouts across the province, including Lahore. A total of 66,376 accused involved in the drug trade were arrested, and 58,756 cases were registered. Police seized 35,716 kilograms of charas, 473 kilograms of ice, and 6,979 kilograms of heroin. Over 1.39 million liters of alcohol and 1,697 kilograms of opium were also seized. In the provincial capital, 10,400 drug dealers were arrested, and more than 10,000 cases were registered. Additionally, 1,283 individuals addicted to drugs were admitted to rehabilitation centers for treatment. 

IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that special operations against drug dealers and smugglers will continue with full force in the coming year and all individuals involved in the online drug supply chain will also be brought to justice. IG Punjab also issued instructions to further intensify intelligence-based operations around educational institutions and hostels.
