Major Success Following Martyrdom of 12 Policemen in Machaka Incident
Punjab Police Gears Up for Major Operation Against Kacha Criminals
Punjab Police has achieved a significant success in the aftermath of the martyrdom of 12 policemen in the Machaka incident. The police force is now preparing for a major operation against the notorious Kacha criminals. Following the instructions of IG Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, DPO Rizwan Umar Gondal has arrived in Kacha Machaka to oversee the operation.
DPO Rizwan Umar Gondal said that during the targeted operation after the Machaka tragedy, 15 dangerous dacoits were killed. Among them, the leaders of the dacoit gangs were eliminated, including one dacoit with a bounty of Rs. 10 million. Intelligence-based operations against the Kacha dacoits are ongoing, employing bulletproof mobile vans, armored vehicles, and riverboats.
DPO Rizwan Umar Gondal mentioned that preparations for the police operation in Kacha are in full swing, with the sugar cane harvest nearly complete. The police forces have re-established their positions in Kacha, and three police camps have been set up along the Punjab-Sindh border on the banks of the Indus River. Additionally, eight more police posts have been established on the River Rescue Dam in Machaka. A soling track is being constructed to facilitate police movement and access to riverine areas.
DPO Rizwan Umar further said that, so far this year, the Rahim Yar Khan police have killed 35 robbers and arrested over 60 of their facilitators. Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, has announced a hard-area allowance for the welfare of police personnel, which has significantly boosted their morale. The police camps have been upgraded with solar power, freezers, water filtration plants, and waterproof tents, all to better equip the force to combat Kacha criminals in the challenging weather conditions.
