Punjab Police ensured foolproof security arrangements for Quaid-e-Azam Day and Christmas celebrations across the province. Over 30,000 police officers and personnel performed security duties at more than 2,900 churches and sensitive locations. In the provincial capital, more than 5,000 officers and personnel were deployed for the security of over 600 Christian places of worship. Similarly, more than 1,000 police officers provided security for the events held on Quaid-e-Azam Day.

 

IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar extended his greetings to the nation on Quaid-e-Azam Day and Christmas to all Christian officers and personnel of Punjab Police in Lahore and across Punjab. On this occasion, IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that Punjab Police shares in the joy of the Christian community and has provided full security for Christmas prayers, events, and the Christian community. All supervisory officers remained in constant contact with the church administrations. He further mentioned that Dolphin Squad, PRU, and Elite Force teams carried out effective patrolling around the churches, while additional police personnel, commandos, and snipers were deployed at sensitive churches. All RPOs and DPOs were instructed to ensure complete checking and identification of participants before allowing entry to the churches. Supervisory officers were also instructed to remain highly vigilant and keep a close watch on suspicious individuals, items, and movements in the surrounding areas. All DPOs and senior supervisory police officers continuously checked the security arrangements at the churches. Security checks were also increased at both entry and exit points.
