IG Punjab appreciates police force for thwarting multiple terrorist attacks.
Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar visited the Jhangi Police Post and other border checkpoints on the Punjab-Khyber Pakhtunkhwa border in the Dera Ghazi Khan district. IG Punjab met with the police officers stationed at the Jhangi and other police checkpoints and reviewed the personnel, weapons, ammunition, bunkers, vehicles, and thermal dome cameras used for checking. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar appreciated the police personnel at the checkpoints for successfully foiling multiple terrorist attacks and awarded them cash prizes. He expressed his appreciation for the force at the border posts for their excellent performance under the most challenging conditions. Dr. Usman Anwar also announced a special allowance for the personnel deployed at the border checkpoints. IG Punjab said that Punjab Police successfully repelled eight attacks by khawarji terrorists on the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa border and assured that terrorists would not be allowed to enter Punjab under any circumstances. He praised the brave personnel of Punjab Police, defending provincial borders at the tri-border checkpoints. He emphasized that the force remains alert at all times to handle any emergency situation. IG Punjab instructed the ongoing intelligence-based operations against khawarji terrorists to be conducted in collaboration with the CTD, Rangers, and other agencies.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar also reviewed the ongoing construction work at the Jhangi checkpoint, including the installation of night vision guns and strengthening of safety measures, including reinforcing the checkpoint buildings and bunkers. He instructed that the construction work should be completed on an urgent basis due to the increasing attacks by khawarji terrorists. RPO Dera Ghazi Khan Sajjad Hassan Khan Manj briefed IG Punjab on the security significance and effectiveness of the Jhangi and other checkpoints. Dr. Usman Anwar said that the process of further strengthening the border posts with government funding is underway, and these posts are being equipped with the latest weapons, transport, logistics, and other facilities. Additional IG South Punjab Muhammad Kamran Khan, RPO Dera Ghazi Khan Sajjad Hassan Khan Manj, DPO Dera Ghazi Khan Syed Ali, and officers from the Special Branch, CTD, Rangers, and other law enforcement agencies were also present.
