IG Punjab hugged the brave constable, inquired about his well-being, and commended him for his bravery.
Constable Muhammad Asif, along with his team, eliminated four dangerous robbers involved in heinous crimes during an encounter last month.
Constable Muhammad Asif, a valiant officer of Lahore Police who eliminated dangerous robbers, met IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar along with his family at the Central Police Office. DIG Operations Lahore Muhammad Faisal Kamran was also present on the occasion. IG Punjab embraced the brave Constable Muhammad Asif, inquired about his health, and praised him. Last month, under the leadership of SHO Green Town, the team, including Constable Muhammad Asif, eliminated four dangerous robbers involved in heinous crimes during an encounter in the Feroz Park area of Lahore. Punjab Police spokesperson shared that during the encounter, Constable Muhammad Asif was shot in the rib, with the bullet passing through his body. However, despite being severely injured, Muhammad Asif courageously stood his ground and confronted the robbers. During the same encounter, SHO Green Town Khurram Shehzad also sustained injuries when a bullet struck his arm. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar acknowledged the exceptional bravery and dedication of Constable Muhammad Asif, SHO Green Town, and their team, who risked their lives to eliminate a dangerous gang. IG Punjab commended their spirit and courage, describing them as praiseworthy. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar also announced commendation certificate and cash award for the brave police officer. DIG Operations Lahore Muhammad Faisal Kamran briefed IG Punjab about the details of the incident. He said that the inter-district shooter gang would rent houses and use rented cars and stolen motorcycles to commit crimes. The gang operated across various regions of Punjab, often disguising themselves in police and Rescue 1122 uniforms to carry out robberies. The dangerous criminals were wanted by police for a range of offenses, including target killings, bank cash robberies, motorcycle thefts, and other robberies. The accused had more than 36 cases registered against them in police stations across Lahore, Pakpattan, Okara, Depalpur, Hujra Shah Muqeem, Vehari, Khanewal, and Multan.
