610 Proclaimed Offenders and Court Absconders Arrested, 272 Stolen Vehicles/Bikes Recovered.
Legal Action Taken Against 25,588 Overloaded Vehicles for Violation of Axle Load SOPs.
Following the directives of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) continues its commitment to serving and protecting citizens and ensuring compliance with the law on the highways across the province. PHP has released its performance report for November 2024. Punjab Police spokesperson said that through the e-Police Post App, PHP police teams checked 2.9 million individuals on the roads. During this operation, 610 proclaimed offenders and court absconders were arrested. PHP also inspected 1.3 million vehicles across Punjab's highways, recovering 272 stolen vehicles and motorcycles. In addition, 25,588 overloaded vehicles were subjected to legal action for violating axle load SOPs. PHP took action against 1,035 vehicles using illegal gas cylinders and issued 7,630 driving licenses for the convenience of citizens. Moreover, the PHP reunited 31 missing children with their families. To improve traffic flow, the PHP removed 291 temporary and permanent encroachments. They also assisted 10,278 travelers on the highways and provided various types of assistance and guidance. At the Police Service Centers, 13,781 citizens were provided with different police services. In addition, PHP registered 62 cases related to the use of illegal weapons, while recovering 1,711 liters of alcohol, 13,050 grams of charas, and 1,027 grams of opium from drug dealers. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar congratulated the Punjab Highway Patrol on its excellent performance, directed them to continue performing their duties with dedication and sincerity to ensure the smooth flow of traffic, and the service and protection of the citizens.
