Under the leadership of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, Punjab Police continues its crackdown on the arrest of dangerous fugitives and proclaimed offenders residing abroad. In a significant operation, Punjab Police successfully arrested Zeeshan Anwar, a key member of an international extortion gang, from Saudi Arabia. Fugitive Zeeshan Anwar is a close associate of the infamous extortionist Fawad Munir alias Fadi Jutt.
Spokesperson for Punjab Police said that the dangerous fugitive Zeeshan Anwar had been wanted by the Ghakkar Mandi Police for the past three years. Punjab Police Special Operations Cell, in collaboration with Saudi Arabian police, carried out the operation to apprehend him. Zeeshan Anwar was brought back to Pakistan via Islamabad International Airport. Spokesperson Punjab Police also mentioned that with this arrest, the total number of foreign-based fugitives arrested by Punjab Police this year has risen to 95. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar commended the successful operation and praised the RPO and CPO Gujranwala and police team for their efforts. IG Punjab directed that legal proceedings be completed swiftly and the accused be given appropriate punishment. Dr. Usman Anwar also instructed that, with the assistance of FIA and Interpol, other dangerous fugitives be captured and brought back to the country.
