The issue of Violent protester’s arson, vandalism, destruction of public and private property, damage to vehicles, and attacks on security forces: In the brutal attacks by rioters in various districts, including the federal capital, Rawalpindi, and Attock, one Punjab Police officer was martyred and over 170 others were injured. Spokesperson of Punjab Police said that several police officers and personnel sustained severe injuries due to the violence and gunfire from the rioters. The rioters also caused significant damage to 22 police vehicles and set one police van on fire. IG Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, paid tribute to the forces who embraced martyrdom while protecting the country’s internal borders. He mentioned that the rioter groups were armed with firearms, sniper rifles, petrol bombs, and other dangerous weapons. Despite the threat, the police and security forces showed exceptional restraint in dealing with the armed mobs. Dr. Usman Anwar assured that the Punjab Police would bring all lawbreakers to justice without exception. To ensure the identification and capture of the rioters, the police are utilizing geo-fencing, CCTV footage, facial recognition technology, and all available resources. Dr. Usman Anwar further said that the morale of the Punjab Police is high, and police officers and officials will not hesitate to make any sacrifice in maintaining law and order and safeguarding citizens' lives and property. IG Punjab also directed that the injured personnel be provided with the best medical treatment and instructed senior officers to spare no effort in ensuring their speedy recovery.
