In line with Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif's vision of a Safe Punjab, police teams continue their strict crackdown against criminal elements. As part of this ongoing efforts, Punjab Police has arrested nearly 200,000 criminals wanted in connection with various henious crimes. According to details, a total of 119,961 proclaimed offenders have been arrested across the province this year, including 21,701 from category A and 98,620 from category B. During the crackdown, 59,569 court absconders were also arrested, including 5,800 from category A and 54,169 from category B. Additionally, 31,574 target offenders (habitual criminals) were apprehended, including 13,000 from category A and 18,474 from category B. Furthermore, 91 criminals wanted for henious crimes were arrested from abroad and brought back to Pakistan. In the provincial capital, Lahore, 61,000 dangerous criminals were apprehended, including 23,950 proclaimed offenders, 24,770 judicial fugitives, and 12,278 target offenders (habitual criminals). IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar appreciated the police teams on their successful operations and directed them to accelerate the crackdown. He further instructed that through effective investigations, cases be completed swiftly and criminals be given appropriate punishments. IG Punjab also emphasized that RPOs, DPOs, and others should personally supervise the crackdown and targeted operations against dangerous criminals.
